The base in Athens is easily accessible through the city's international airport. Many travelers like to stay an extra day in Athens before or after sailing to explore the city, which is full of old routines, cool museums, but also a vibrant nightlife. The base in Athens is located in Alimos Marina on the west coast, ideally located for direct access to the islands of the Saronic Gulf or for sailing out to the western Cyclades.
For those of you with time pressure, or for those of you who are not interested in the first hours of sailing outside Athens, we also have a charter base in Lavrion, less than half an hour's drive from Athens airport - perfect if you want to sail just one or two hours after landing !
The base in Alimos Marina offers many choices, both single hull and catamarans - with or without skipper. All boats in Athens can also be brought with a Swedish skipper but book in time. Our Swedish skippers are often full when the pressure is high!
Sailing from Athens
When starting from Athens, you usually sail based on one of two alternatives. Either you explore the Saronic Islands or the Cyclades. You can of course plan your time exactly as you want and we are more than happy to help you plan a trip that suits your wishes.
Saronic Islands
The Saronic Islands with the Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Spetses and Peloponnesian coasts offer a relatively smooth sailing - almost completely protected from strong winds. The Saronic route number is highly recommended for easy sailing, especially in July and August when the strong northern winds blow down the Cyclades.
The Saronic Islands are a good area for a week's charter thanks to the relatively short sailing times between destinations. Along this route you will find breathtaking views of island towns, castles, small fishing ports and pristine anchorages.
The Cyclades
The Cyclades are a group of islands located in the middle of the fantastic Aegean Sea. The Cyclades are one of the world's most visited islands for sailing enthusiasts from all corners of the world.
Discover the traditional whitewashed houses that lie like a staircase down to the crystal clear blue water. Endless opportunities for exploration and a wide range of destinations, no matter what you are looking for. Sailing in this archipelago requires some experience because the winds, especially in July and August, can be quite strong.
