Explore the different routes along Göta Kanal and Kinda Kanal, all starting and ending in Motala. Choose between routes suited for different levels of experience, travel styles and boating holidays.
The Green Route combines Göta Kanal with the scenic Kinda Canal and is suitable for both experienced boaters and first-time guests. Along the way, you will pass some of the canal’s most famous lock areas, including Borenshult and Berg, before continuing towards Linköping and the peaceful waterways of Kinda Canal.

The Blue Route takes you through the eastern section of Göta Kanal and includes several of the canal’s most iconic destinations. Experience the impressive lock staircases at Borenshult and Berg, cruise across Lake Roxen and enjoy a stay in the charming canal town of Söderköping.

The Red Route is recommended for more experienced boaters and includes a crossing of Lake Vättern. This route offers a varied journey through some of the most scenic sections of Göta Kanal, with highlights such as Forsvik, Spetsnäskanalen and Vassbacken. Guests renting for two weeks can combine routes to experience even more of the canal.

All routes start and end in Motala and are usually booked on a weekly basis. The Green Route combines Göta Kanal with Kinda Canal, the Blue Route follows the eastern part of Göta Kanal towards Söderköping, and the Red Route goes towards Sjötorp and includes crossing Lake Vättern.
